Rachel Forbes appointed Director of Inscyte.

We're proud to share that Rachel Forbes has been appointed a Director of Inscyte, with immediate effect.

For anyone who has worked with Rachel, this won't come as a surprise. It recognises what she already does. She leads our legal services. She guides clients through the toughest PFI and contractual relationships we handle. And she helps steer the direction of the business, day to day.

Rachel joined Inscyte in 2020 and has been Associate Director since 2022. In every strategy discussion since, she's operated as a full and equal member of the leadership team. This appointment makes official what was already true.

Rachel Forbes: in her own words.

Ask Rachel what she does, and the answer is typically modest, and typically funny. “It might be shorter to explain what I don't do,” she says. She advises clients on the workings of PFI contracts, and supports the business across legal, commercial, HR and financial decisions. “There isn't much I don't get involved in. Apart from anything on an Excel spreadsheet.”

Her best work, though, still comes from one place: untangling a tricky legal problem.

“PFI contracts were drafted by lawyers, but 20+ years on, the wording and the intention rarely match what's happening on the ground,”

she says. Interpreting those situations is what drives her. So does the outcome. Rachel is motivated by giving clients the contractual tools to fix problems that hold back the delivery of education, often to the detriment of the people who matter most: children.

Clear, practical advice, and the patience to get it right. That's what clients and colleagues rely on her for.

The person behind the role.

Ask her colleagues, and the same words keep coming back. Firm but fair. Calm under pressure. The person you go to with a problem, however big or small, who listens until she understands it. Measured, considered, and quietly competitive in the best way, whether that's a legal challenge, keeping fit, or cheering on her children at football.

What won't change for our clients.

Everything you aready rely on Rachel for. She keeps her role as Head of Legal. She keeps her client relationships. And she kees being the person clients and colleagues can pick up the phone to.

The congratulations across the team were immediate and unanimous.

Congratulations, Rachel. Thoroughly deserved.

Meet the people behind the work.

Rachel is one reason our clients know they're in safe hands. Behind every contract we untangle, there's a team just as driven to get it right.
